Cindymarie Dix is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and long-time recovery ally.
For the eight years prior to coming to the Foundation, Cindymarie worked at Eva’s Village. Cindymarie started in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant – and due to her incredible loyalty, hard work and commitment – she was able to work her way up to most recently serving as the Director of Peer Recovery Services at their Recovery Community Center. During her time at Eva’s, Cindymarie also operated as a Patient Navigator for the Passaic County Opioid Overdose Recovery Program (OORP). In 2015 Cindy was honored with the Woman of Distinction Award from Promises Delivered, and she currently sits on the Advisory Board for the New Jersey Coalition for Addiction Recovery Support (CARS). Cindymarie has created and facilitated various educational workshops and support groups for individuals in every stage of recovery; has several years experience of program development and administration; and, has extensive experience mentoring, training and empowering peer recovery specialists, recovery coaches and volunteers. Cindymarie recognizes the vital need for the addiction continuum to include recovery support services – and dedicated her career to ensuring these services are delivered compassionately and accessible to all.
Cindymarie was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and graduated in 2007 with her Bachelors of Science in Correctional Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Cindymarie is now a proud Newark resident and has a passion for reading, TED Talks, traveling, journaling and discovering new restaurants with her husband, Rabbi-El.
